Summertime Blues~

Summer in Asia has translated to a lot of different things, one of which is large, flying, wall-climbing, dollar-coin-sized cockroaches. The one to the left (in the sink) was found by my roommate as he was standing and using the bathroom... imagine "doing your business" and looking up to see an enormous roach on the wall less than 2 feet away from you. @_@

The one below is put next to a Taiwanese coin that is as large as a quarter.

>bleack!<

Ahhh... the sad thing is that I'm actually getting used to it~

  1. I'd rather be used to it than freak out every time I see one (which is currently the case). ;-)

The big thing around here is spiders. I guess I'm used to them, but they still startle me when I turn on the light and BAM! there's one sitting right there. *shudder*

  2. Dang man... huge spiders crawling around the apartment... I think that would be worse that roaches...

Worse yet, don't spiders do other weird/nasty things like spin webs and bite you in your sleep?

    Spiders win~

  3. Glad ya didn't omit the fact that these weighty buggers actually fly

  5. Meh, these aren't that big. Where I come from, in CA, we have Blatta orientalis, the Oriental cockroach (I assume it was accidentally imported here somehow). Although I rarely ever see them where I live, we used to get them a lot more when I was a kid. Most everyone else being afraid of them (including my dad), I was often the one who had to kill them!

But spiders? Yeah, they spin webs but rarely ever bite. The vast majority only bite when disturbed. If you leave them alone, they'll eat your flies, mosquitoes, and, even on occasion, your ants!

So, save the spiders! They don't carry the diseases that flies and cockroaches do.
